Veteran's Club Meeting June 10, 2023
President Goody Morrison opened the meeting at 4:00 PM with the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. There were 21 members in attendance.
The Secretary Cal Hunter reported that the minutes of the previous meeting were posted on the club’s website. A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes and was accepted by the membership.
Treasurer Steve Rosenthal reported that there was a balance of $7,000 in the bank.
A discussion of the Veteran’s Day celebration on November 11 would include an Italian dinner catered by Mario’s at 7:00 PM in the clubhouse. There would be the morning flagpole celebration at 9:00 AM.
A presentation by David Cohen followed, detailing his Vietnam War experiences.
He was originally enrolled in the Hofstra University ROTC program in 1967. He was enrolled in the Army Signal Corps and Telephone Communications at Fort Bragg.
He was sent to Vietnam in 1967 and served with the 1st Brigade.
He detailed his combat experiences which were often times quite harrowing.
This was followed by the 50/50 raffle, and the meeting was adjourned at 5:15 PM.
