Veteran's Club Meeting Minutes From April 10, 2016
Our Sunday breakfast meeting opened at 0800 with 26 members in attendance. Total club membership is 168. Vice President Goody Morrison chaired this month's meeting since President Jules Harper was on travel.
An informal "Meet and Greet" including breakfast was held from 0800 to 0820.
Formal business commenced at 0820 with the "Pledge of Allegiance".
The Secretary's Report was presented and the minutes of our last meeting were voted upon and accepted by the membership.
The Treasurer's Report was presented. It was noted that we currently have a cash balance on hand in excess of $3,616.00. This includes funds received for pre-registrations for the upcoming Car Show.
Fleet Week Co-Chairman David Weissman provided an update on preparations for the event. To date 47 individuals have signed up for the event with only 9 seats still available on the bus. Those planning to attend were reminded that no weapons are permitted. Attendees were advised to bring water and lunch or snacks if desired since no food will be available for purchase at the event, and that the Navy requires long pants and no shorts for the shipboard visits.
Vice President Goody Morrison reminded our members that they are invited to attend the following two events to be held during Fleet Week:

Additional volunteers were solicited to help with parking and car registration. It was noted that all funds collected at the Car Show will go directly to the Wounded Warriors of South Florida.
Veteran's Day Dance and Auction Chairman Les Ungerleider encouraged members to begin soliciting businesses to donate items for our annual auction at the event, leveraging friends and family contacts to identify possible donors. He suggested that we emphasize to potential donors that the auction is to benefit the Wounded Warriors of South Florida, and not the national Wounded Warriors Project.
