VR Veterans Club Secretary Secretary Reports

October 14, 2021 general meeting and Board of Directors meeting

The meeting was called to order by President Jules Harper and the Pledge of Allegiance                                                                             to the flag was recited. Present at the meeting were 27 members.

The treasurer’s report given by David Weissman, indicated a reserve of $4,100.00.

Jules Harper reported that he was able to secure donations of golf certificates from private, county and public golf courses, which, when sold to veterans and Valencia Reserve residents would net the club approximately $1,500.00. He also indicated that he was in contact with Earl Stewart who will donate the use of his boat for cruising or fishing. This would probably net approximately $1,200.00 or $300 for each of four couples.

The president then announced the Veteran’s Club candidates for office to be voted on by the general membership at the December 12th breakfast meeting. The candidates are as follows:

The display of club members’ military photos will again be displayed, and it was suggested that those who have not previously submitted one should provide an 8x10 photo.
